Reaping Rest

When you plant a seed normally you keep it watered, covered with soil and wait patiently for it to grow. In that period you rest knowing one day you will reap what you have sowed. Well, it’s come to my attention that I really do not know how to find peace and patience in rest. I feel like I get into a rest mood and start sowing good seeds but then I uncover all the “hard” work and stir up the soil killing any beneficial nutrients that I need to thrive. I know in my head that rest is important and needed to keep moving forward but I just can’t get my gears to wind down completely. It’s like I start and stop the motor consistently. I think this is apart of learning how to rest though. I think I’m teaching myself how to patiently wait for rest to come. I am starting to feel better emotionally and physically but that to is on a day to day basis. I know that me showing my kids how to rest is important too. As I said before when you plant a seed you have to wait in the stillness till that plant shoots through the surface of the earth. I think God is trying to grow something beneficial in my life but I need to keep that seed planted and watered correctly. Pray for my heart to find peace and stillness in rest. Check out my other posts as I find out how in the world to rest. Ps we decided to paint our bedroom and bathroom from 6:30pm-11pm at night does that count as resting? Lol 😂

28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
